Privacy Policy

vocabla is a calm, ad-free vocabulary app. We collect only what we need to teach you well — your account, your learning progress, and the words you write to practise. We don’t run ads, we don’t track you across other apps, and we never sell your data.


Who we are

This policy applies to the vocabla iOS app and this website. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “vocabla” refer to the makers of the app. If you have any questions, contact us at feedback@malife.app.

What we collect

We collect the following, all tied to your account so your progress follows you across devices:

Account information

Your email address and a unique account identifier, created when you sign up with Apple, Google, or email and password.

Learning progress & usage

Your chosen languages, placement-test results, which words you’ve learned and mastered, and your exercise and session history.

Purpose · app functionality and personalising your learning

Content you create

The free-writing text you submit for correction, your answers in story exercises, and any content reports you send us.

Subscription status

Whether you have an active vocabla subscription. Purchases are handled by Apple; we never see your payment-card details.

What we don’t collect

Some settings stay only on your device and are never sent to us — for example your font choice, your daily-reminder time, audio playback speed, and cached lesson content and audio.

How your information is used

We use the data above only to run the app and improve your experience: to sign you in, save and sync your progress, generate writing corrections and stories, deliver your subscription, and respond to content you report. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Who processes your data for us

We rely on a small number of trusted service providers (“sub-processors”) who handle data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments:

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on Google’s cloud infrastructure. Depending on where you are, it may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for any such transfers.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete the personal data associated with it. Some information may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten.

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at feedback@malife.app.

Children

vocabla is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections, authenticated access to your data, and app-attestation checks to guard our servers against abuse. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated within the app or on this page.
